Rock & Roll is an infectious rhythm popular with pupils of all ages. The rhythm creates a certain type of body movement. The turns and foot movement are created by this rhythmic action.
The dance has many forms. When no regular foot pattern is used many people call it Le Roc. Many “natural” dancers use this form of Rock’n’Roll
For social dancers we teach a simple single step foot movement known as Rock Basic
but try to encourage natural body movement & leg action. It is included in all our social classes
In the disco classes children learn “International Style” flick basic & nine step basic which is used for medal tests and competitions.
Many rock’n’roll dancers like to attend swing sessions & 60’s nights and Hanger Dances. Those wishing to develop the dance further to include lifts can take personal tuition.
