Dancing is great fun, promotes good health and well-being, is a positive social activity and is enjoyable for people of all ages.

The Lait Dance Club was founded in 1974 by Tom and Pat Lait. Their son Bruce and daughter Annette are now partners in the dance school. It is situated in Ipswich, Suffolk and has beautiful facilities which include a large ballroom with a maple sprung floor and a licensed bar. The dance club is always active with different events, such as Saturday Night Social Dances, Practice Nights, Medal Tests and Competitions. We encourage you to take a look at our variety of classes as well!

There are over 10 experienced teaching staff who are associated with the Lait Dance Club whose roles include teaching Ballroom, Latin, Rock ‘N’ Roll and Salsa, by classes and personal tuition for children and adults at all levels, including beginners, social dancers, medallists and competitors.

About Our Dance School

Since the Lait Dance Club was founded in 1974 by Tom and Pat Lait, we have helped countless children and adults throughout Ipswich and Suffolk, including Bury, Bramford, Chelmondiston and Martlesham, to embrace their passion for dance and use their talents to live healthier lifestyles, build new friendships and have fun while doing so. Today, their son, daughter & many experienced teachers teach at the school and continue to share their love for a variety of dance styles with the community.

We frequently help couples prepare their first dance routine for their wedding. We teach children who are interested in learning how to dance and adults simply looking for a fun and entertaining way to stay healthy. No matter what your level of experience may be, we welcome you to the Lait Dance Club with open arms!

Our Facilities

When you visit our school, you’ll notice how we take great pride in our facilities and their appearances. The maple sprung floor in the large ballroom as well as the licensed bar are just two of the features we’re most proud of.
We have a self-service bean to cup coffee machine in our waiting area for you to enjoy onsite or take away.
